Awards

We recognise achievements throughout the season and at the completion of the season at our Presentation Evening (Friday 25 March 2011).

Improvement Certificates

Improvement certificates are issued when an athlete accumulates points based on personal improvement. When athletes achieve a personal best (PB) they are awarded points. The greater the improvement, the more points are earned.

  • 100 points = Bronze Certificate
  • 200 points = Silver Certificate
  • 300 points = Gold Certificate

Major Awards

There are also major club awards:

  • Best in Age (Point Score)
  • Runner Up Best in Age (Point Score)
  • Encouragement Award
  • Age Improvement
  • Most Improved in Club
  • Club Champion
  • State Athlete Recognition
  • Highest Achiever
  • Club Person Award
  • Seniors Award

Criteria for these awards is as follows:

Participation Award
All registered athletes will receive a participation medallion at the end of the season.  Only athletes who compete and participate in at least 75% of club meets from the date of their registration will be eligible to receive the other awards.

Best in Age (Point Score) and Runner-Up Best in Age (Point Score)
Competitors results based on placing in events over the whole season

Encouragement Award
Awarded to a “trier" who shows "sportsmanship and determination”
Seen to be having a go at all events without winning a Points Score, Runner Up or Other Major Trophy
Has 100% attendance

Age Improvement Medallion
Athlete in each age group (boy and girl) with most improvement points

Improvement Trophy
Athlete with most improvement points

Club Champion
Regular competitor
Athlete who sets most records over most events during the season

State Athlete Recognition
Awarded to athletes who compete at the State Championship (not just qualify)

Highest Achiever Award
Regular competitor
Athlete who achieves highest placing at State or Regional Championships

Club Person Award
Awarded to any parent who shows club spirit in running of events eg encouraging and coaching all athletes
Contributor to the Club above and beyond the normal call of duty

Seniors Award
Awarded to Under 15 athletes who have been with the Club for 5 or more years continuously
