Club Uniform

Uniforms are available for sale or order at registration and for the first few weeks of competition.

All competitors are required to wear a NILAC uniform.

Tiny Tots may wear a plain royal blue t shirt that is purchased elsewhere.

Bike shorts in royal blue that are purchased elsewhere are also acceptable.
 

Pre-loved uniforms at a minimal cost are subject to availability.

It is compulsory for all athletes representing Northern Illawarra to wear their club uniform when competing at all Association sanctioned carnivals and Centre level competition.

The uniform consists of either the club t-shirt or singlet and plain royal blue shorts/bike shorts. Girls may also choose to wear the two piece suit.

Please note: No logos or contrasting stitching/stripes is to be on any of the shorts.
 

Skins and compression pants are also allowed.


Scungies/Briefs must be worn to cover the hipbones. No part of the uniform shall extend below the top of the knee.

Plain bike pants or t shirt, in only royal blue, black or white, may be worn underneath the club uniform for sun protection or for the sake of modesty.

Please note: No board shorts, cargo style shorts, or the like product are permitted.

ALL singlets or T-shirts must be tucked in when in the competition area if it is covering your number or age patch. If the singlet or T-shirt comes out during the event it will not be a foul. A Competitor must be warned prior to being fouled for not having their singlet or T-shirt tucked in.

  • Each athlete is allocated a registration number, an age patch and an IGA patch at the time of registration.
  • The individual registration number should be attached to the front of the uniform clearly showing the red outline.

The age patch should be on the left hand side of the uniform - either on the top or the shorts.

The IGA patch must be on the top right hand side of the uniform. It can be placed sideways on crop tops to fit in the area.

When representing the club at other events outside our own club, a centre number (103) must be displayed on the back of the uniform.

Registration and Centre numbers must have all printing visible, without modifications to size and must clearly show the sponsor’s name. The minimum size of the registration number is that indicated by the red border printed on the number. The border must be visible.

Approved Centre uniform must be worn on the presentation days.

Footwear

Appropriate footwear is compulsory for ALL competitors at Centre level and all Championship Carnivals.

Spikes may be worn from Under 9 upwards but only where an event is run entirely in lanes - not in pack starts.

Spikes may be worn from Under 9 upwards in Javelin, Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump.

Spike cannot be worn in any Under 6 to Under 8 events.

Spike shoes must only be worn during the event and are not to be worn to and from the event. Competitors using spikes must be safety conscious at all times and carry their spikes when not actually competing.

Spikes must be removed at the completion of each event.
Competitors will be given one warning to remove spikes, if failing to do so they will be removed from competition for the night.

There is a maximum spike length of 7mm for synthetic track events and 9mm for field events or 12mm for grass track events or according to ground requirements.

Competitors must not wear spike shoes with the spikes removed in any event.
