Competition Rules
During Club Competition
At the beginning of each club competition day all competitors must be signed in with their respective age group by their parent/carer.
All competitors then wait with their age group and listen to their Age Marshall.
A list of events for the day will be with the age group folder and on the information board.

Competition Structure
CENTRE
The basic unit of Little Athletics is the Centre. This consists of one or more individual clubs competing together at a common venue. All athletes registered with the centre are eligible to compete. The venue for competition of Northern Illawarra Little Athletics Club is Bulli High School Track and Field Oval, Bulli.
ZONE
Centres have been grouped into Zones by the Little Athletics Association for the purpose of providing next level competition. Northern Illawarra is part of the South Coast - Highlands Zone, which consists of the following centres: Bowral, Dapto, Northern Illawarra, Wollondilly and Wollongong City.
There are 11 Metropolitan Zones and 12 Country Zones in NSW. Centres within each zone elect Delegates to attend zone meetings chaired by a Zone Co-ordinator, who is elected by the Delegates. At these meetings, Zone Policy is determined and the Zone Championships are organised. It is also used by the Zone Co-ordinator as a forum where centres can raise problems and/or issues.
The Zone Championships is an annual two day carnival open to U/7 and upwards age groups from those Centres within the Zone. The Zone Championship is the start of an elimination series of championships culminating in the State Championships. From the Zone Championships, the first three placegetters from each age group in an event form a Zone Team to compete at Regional Championships.
Competitors wishing to compete at Zone must be in U/7 and up age group and they may select up to 4 individual events in which to compete. Participation is highly recommended, although not compulsory.
The dates for the Zone are Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th December 2010 and will be held at Dapto.
Entry close 26 November 2010.
Remember: Entry to these events is conditional of parent participation and support in the form of assisting at events.
REGION
There are five Regions within NSW. Northern Illawarra is part of Region 5 which consists of the following six Zones – Mid South Coast, South Coast Highlands, Eastern Riverina, West Riverina, Western Plains and Central Tablelands.
The Regional Championships for the 2008/2009 season will be hosted by the South Coast Highlands Zone and will be held at Wollongong City LA's home track, Beaton Park. The first three placegetters from each age group in an event form a Regional Team to compete at State Championships. The venue for the State Championships each year is the Sydney Athletic Centre at Homebush.
Only U/8 and upward age competitors may proceed to the Regional Championships through achieving a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing at the Zone Championships.
The dates for the Regional are Saturday and Sunday 19th and 20th February 2011 and will be held at Forbes. The club has already booked accommodation in Forbes for this event.
Entry forms will be available after registrations.
Remember: Entry to these events is conditional of parent participation and support in the form of assisting at events.
